1.  Journal-   What are three important things from the first 20 pages of THE ALCHEMIST?

Went to see the gypsy- 1/10th
Old Man- Fate/ Personal legends/ world's biggest lie:  "At a certain point in our lives we lose control of what happens to us and our lives become controlled by fate."
If that's the lie, what's the truth?  Our lives are in our control-  not controlled by fate.



2. Listing-  See above-  Important ideas-  Now a topic sentence:  According to Paolo Coehlo, in The Alchemist, the truth is that our lives are in our own control.
